Born in America, Corinna is of Mexican and German ancestry. She raised three, multi-racial sons as a single mother, who remain her heroes. Active in faith-based organizations.
Federal Government Civilian Service
Led Anti-Terrorism & Force Protection programs for the Pentagon Reservation, protecting high-risk personnel, 40,000 tenants, & 100 + facilities across three states. Directed Legislative Affairs in Iraq for USF-I, while coordinating and traveling with interagency and diplomatic officials (supporting DoD’s Civilian Expeditionary Workforce program). Served as Vice President, DoD Senior Professional Women’s Association, with over 100+ members, providing mentoring, networking with civilian speakers, and professional development coaching.
Military Service
Served 25 years as an NCO and commissioned officer, primarily in the Military Police Corps. Protected high-risk personnel, e.g., Congressional delegation visits, and coordinated with Special Operations forces and government agencies. Commanded paratroopers from Fort Bragg, NC, providing response to the 9/11 terrorist attack at the Pentagon, and subsequent combat operations in Afghanistan. Served as a Deputy Provost Marshal in Iraq supporting counterterrorism operations (DoS ORA).
Political Service
Campaigned as a 2020 & 2022 candidate for Florida State Senate and U.S. Congress
consecutively during the COVID-19 pandemic. Served as Chair, Speakers Bureau, League of Women Voters, Palm Beach County, FL. Recognized as one of the top five field organizers in a 2018 state-wide FL campaign. Served as a 2016 U.S. Congressional Fellow advising on national security, defense, and veterans’ policy issues; authored talking points and testimony; directed bi-partisan roundtable discussions; and often met with constituents on the Member’s behalf. Campaigned as a 2014 candidate for South Dakota’s at-large Congressional seat amid the Federal government shutdown.
