HISTORY
From Interest Group to Chapter
Before the Climb to Glory ROCKS became an official chapter, it started as an interest group. The first executive board members of the interest group met monthly at local restaurants to discuss the way forward to becoming an official chapter, as well as topics for the general interest group meetings. The interest group’s general interest meetings were typically conducted during lunch at one of the Fort Drum dining facilities and consisted of professional development workshops. These workshops ranged from how to build an AIM Resume to field grade officer panels focused on the paths to success as an Army officer. The g
eneral meetings also acted as membership drives to help officers and warrant officers learn how to become ROCKS members at large in lieu of the chapter’s chartering.
In 2020, the Climb to Glory ROCKS interest group experienced a surge in membership, which helped to drive and accomplish the requirements needed to become a chapter.
On 16 June 2020, the Climb to Glory ROCKS reached a major milestone and was chartered on Fort Drum, New York at the historic Leray Mansion.
