Colonel James M. Bosley

U.S. Army, Retired

 

Colonel James M. Bosley retired 31 January 2000 from the United States Army after 29 years of service.  He is currently employed with Computer Sciences Corporation, in Arlington, Virginia as a Senior Analyst.

 

Colonel Bosley’s last active duty assignment was as Military Deputy to the Army Chief of Legislative Liaison, the principal advisor to the Secretary of the Army on all legislative affairs relating to the United States Congress.  He served as the principal Legislative Strategist in developing the Army’s Top Ten legislative priorities for the United States Congress.

 

Colonel Bosley is a native of Warren County, Mississippi.  He received his commission in 1970 as a Second Lieutenant in the Quartermaster Corps from Arkansas Agriculture, Mechanical and Normal College, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.  In 1980, he earned a Master’s Degree in Logistics Management from Florida Institute of Technology.  His military education includes the Quartermaster Officer Basic Course, Airborne Training, Quartermaster Advanced Course, Command and General Staff College and the United States Army War College.  Prior to assuming the position as the Military Deputy, Colonel Bosley served as the Chief of Congressional Affairs for The Army Materiel Command.  Other key assignments include: Assistant Chief of Staff, G-4, 2nd Corps Support Command, 7th Corps, Germany. Team Chief, Force Development for Logistics Organizations, Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations, Washington, D.C.; Strategic Logistics Coordinator, US Army 22nd Support Command, Saudia Arabia; S-3, 541st Maintenance Battalion, Fort Riley Kansas; MIA Team Leader, Joint Casualty Resolution Center, Vietnam; Chief, Plans and Operations Division, Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff for Logistics, Washington, D.C.

 

In addition, Colonel Bosley’s career includes service as: Commander, Army Garrison, Aberdeen Proving Ground, Aberdeen Maryland; Commander, 2nd Area Support Battalion, 22nd Support Command, Saudia Arabia; Commander 305th Supply and Services Company, 227th Maintenance Battalion, South Korea; Commander 24th Transportation Company, 541st Maintenance Battalion, Fort Riley, Kansas.

  

Colonel Bosley’s awards and decorations include two awards of the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star Medal, three awards of the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Meritorious Unit Citation, the Parachutist Badge, Army General Staff Badge and various other decorations for Foreign Service.

 

Colonel Bosley is married to the former Mary Ann Anderson and has one daughter, Quin, two sons, Sean and James, and one grandson, Victor.
