History of the ROCKS 5-Miler

This event is held annually in September at the Burke Lake Park, Burke, Virginia.  The primary focus of the race is to promote health and wellness, fun, and community service.  Secondary t the goal of community involvement is an opportunity to raise funds for the Roscoe C. Cartwright Scholarship program, a program designed to give back to the community by presenting an opportunity for high school seniors and/or college students to be selected for scholarship in an effort to subsidize their educational expenses.
