Scholarship Corner

The Buffalo Soldier Chapter provides scholarship stipends to cadets registered in senior ROTC programs within the Fort Leavenworth, KS, Kansas City, MO, and surrounding areas. 

Please visit the national website,, for additional national scholarship information regarding: 
- The R.C. Cartwright Scholarship Program, $1500 stipend
- The LTG Edward Honor Scholarship Award, $2000 stipend
- The 4-year Army ROTC Scholarship (for high school seniors)

Professional Development

The Leadership Development Program is purposed to fulfill the need for coaching, teaching and mentoring chapter members and community leaders. It is designed to:
  • Provide leaders, with demonstrated personal, professional and career success an opportunity to share the wisdom of their past experiences. 
  • Provide a forum for continued understanding of the history and traditions of the military and The ROCKS, Inc. 
  • Assess the leader development needs of chapter members.
  • Assist members in defining personal and professional goals, and designing a plan to achieve their goals.
  • Model and advocate competence, communication, leadership skills, social acumen, and community service.
